It comes in two firmness options: a “relaxed firm” (or medium firm) and a “firm”, both of which are $1,299 for a queen size (this shows the levels of the mattress probably don’t change, but their density and firmness are changed). They also sell an adjustable base, which is great for you, that goes for $1,399 for a queen size. It is made with a mixture of gel memory foam, memory foam, and polyfoam. They offer a 120-night sleep which is generous. Loom & Leaf’s memory foam is fairly denser than a lot of the online mattress competition (5lbs density, at 2.5″ thickness plus 2″ of memory foam at 4lbs density) which shows it may be very supportive and have a standard memory foam feel. Sometimes you can rent out an adjustable base to make sure it works for your needs and sometimes you can also have a doctor write you a prescription which could, at the very least, get rid of sales tax.If you’re only looking for an adjustable bed (no mattress), our research shows most prices (for a queen base that articulates at the head and feet) will be around $1,800+. If you’re looking for an adjustable bed plus a new mattress, add another $1,000 to that. If you’re looking for a king size, double those numbers.But again, it comes down to what you need from the base. For adjustable bases, head to a store and try them out. The good thing about adjustable bases is they serve as functional furniture. We are not too familiar with that adjustable bed model but that is a very low price. A low price doesn’t necessarily mean low quality, but there are some things to consider. First, see if you can try it out so you can gauge how loud the motor is when the machine is moving. Generally speaking, less expensive models will have louder models. This is not a deal breaker but something to consider. Second, check to see the weight limits and the warranty specifics are. Weight limits are very important because they factor in the weight of the person sleeping on the mattress and the mattress itself. As far as warranty, what is covered? How long is each part covered? If an adjustable needs to get repaired, it needs a tech, so how long does it take to get a tech? Questions like that make a big difference.We hope this was helpful! We have not specifically used the Lucid L100, but after your question, we went to see what we could find on the internet. This adjustable bed is sold at a very attractive price point ($389 for a queen). However, we did see some red flags. First, it does have a 600 lb weight limit. This is not a big red flag, but keep in mind your mattress may weigh anywhere from 80-120+ lbs. Say you get a 120lb mattress. Now your base can handle 480 pounds. If the bed is shared, that’s 240lbs allotted per person. This isn’t to say the base won’t work, but keep in mind the weight limit when choosing a mattress. (In that same line, the adjustable bed is marketed for mattresses that are no higher than 14″ so keep that in mind as well). Also, the five-year warranty is somewhat on the short side.Another concern: the legs don’t seem to be adjustable and the base is 14″ height. So please measure accordingly and make sure this base’s height will fit your needs.It comes down to your needs and what you are using it for. The offer said nothing about the adjustable frame having only the head of the frame adjustable. This was purchased in order to elevate lower extremities to aide edema . We didn’t have a clue our frame was half of what we expected. The only thing we can do is turn the bed around and use the adjustable head as the foot and use pillows to elevate our head . Feels like misrepresentation , who wouldn’t expect an adjustable bed to have both foot and head adjust? No where does the advertised frame state head only it’s listed just as adjustable . Also, they seem to be very low, as if made for people who are only 2 ft. tall. After two hip operations, I have trouble getting up from too low a seat; I am not alone in this, which is why elderly men generally prefer high toilets. When I visit friends, I need help getting up from their couch; at home I have no problem getting up hands free. But among the reasons I am looking for an adjustable bed is that I have have poor leg circulation, and I would like to keep my legs (the entire leg) elevated. After my last operation, I rented a hospital bed for a month and found my ankles had gone slender, and there was no swelling in my legs. I would like to have that as my standard experience. I would give Mattress Firm high ratings for their Serta Katrice Ice gel King mattress paired with their Mattress Firm 600 adjustable frame, which is a Legget & Platt Zero Gravety with message features and two USB ports lit at head, plus a low lite under the bed. I’m short and old and cannot sit on my bed; I have to climb up on it and jump down to get off the bed. They say they can replace the legs with shorter ones and I’ll try, but I doubt they will be short enough. Another problem is the the slow adjustment time; it takes forever to raise or lower the head. I went to Mattress Firm and tried one out and we loved the way we felt in zero gravity position to watch TV. When I looked at Mattress Firm reviews on this base there were negative reviews. I don’t even know if it comes with a warranty. I know that there are no returns on adjustable beds because that was the concern with a few people that with the bar at end of bed it was very hard to make bed, etc. At this point, I’ll work thru making the bed but would like the option of raising legs and head when needed or just head up a little for snoring. I would also like having the wireless remote. Do you have any reviews on this bed base? Some people indicated that they only had for a few months and there were issues. We found a mattress (hybrid) that we want to purchase so I was hoping to do all at same time.

I borderline price fixing because I was told by rooms to go and mattress firm that everyone who carried two brands I shopped that everyone who carried that brand had to have the same price. I rented a warehouse called the major adjustable bed manufacturer and placed the order, I am using a high quality Mattress Manufacturer that doesn’t price fix and have sold many sets. Look around at Craigslist and the penny pincher papers you might be surprised. Thanks

It was on back order, they brought it to my house, the guys had no clue how to put it together, after which they finally got to looking at it, found out it was damaged with the wires being cut through the motor part. I have contacted weekends only, no help. They gave me the motosleep phone number, no help. I am so frustrated and am going to have it picked up by weekends only with my money back. On top of this, I can even find a motosleep manufacturer online!! My suggestion is to not buy any adjustable bed from WEEKENDS ONLY!!

The mattresses from tempurpedic wear out very quickly ( less than a year ! ) and do not seem to be the same quality they used to be. Just do a little searching online and you will see tons of people saying the same. The “warranty ” process is ridiculous and does not cover the beds wearing out. It only covers the beds developing deep sagging defects.

David September 23, 2018 at 11:54 am ReplyThe bases cost about 325.00 – 1,200 for extra long king and will retail for 699 – 1,999 for each. Motors have dropped in prices in the last 3 year’s that makes them easier to repair. The Chinese bases are more affordable but getting parts are tough to get after 5 or 6 years. (Motors) brackets are available here. We have the money and the bad bodies, so they will stick it too us.
Richard March 9, 2017 at 8:14 am ReplyI have found that the adjustable bed equipment is priced at about $1500.00 per side for a king by shopping several stores locally (SO FL). Since this is basically two motors (head and foot) with two long machined or cast screws that have a few pieces of chipboard and some plastic hinges attached, I find it rather odd that the prices are so high. I realize some motors are better than others, but really, $1500. 00 per SIDE for just a base seems rather steep. Also, you omit Sleep Number beds here. Is that because they come with their own mattresses? It seems that they want about $7000.00 for a split king with no guarantee that you will like the bed, so you are stuck with it. What is the overall customer opinion on that manufacturer that you have found?

I get vertigo (BPPV) that requires sleeping upright for 2 straight nights to keep the ear crystals from floating to the wrong spot and causing vertigo again. I had to sleep in a LazyBoy at the hospital and they are not made for sleeping. Today, I went to SleepOutfitters and fell in love with a Tempur-Ergo adjustable but it’s reviews make me question its value.

L. Barrett October 22, 2017 at 8:22 am ReplyThe problem with the very old bed I have now, a Maxwell, is that the remote is broken. Bed itself build as strong as a Sherman tank. So far no one seems willing to try and solder broken remote. Before the used Maxwell I had a used S-SCape by Leggett and Platt. The remote I’d just replaced when bed itself broke. If I could inspect the underneath of the beds, I’d know which to choose. The best was the Maxwell…the L&P I didn’t care for for a few reasons. One being the platform is much narrower than the mattress size. What gives with that? But I am really determined to avoid a Chinese company.

At the time of purchase I was 61, I thought why would we need a “hospital” bed? Well now we see the need and benifits of an adjustable bed. Where to begin? This is a big investment. I thought we had the perfect bed, it sleeps well, but it collapses when you sit on the side and it is very hard to move around on. HELP, we want adjustable and comfortable and cool bed, that won’t break the bank.

Brenda Dunn October 22, 2018 at 5:08 am ReplyMy husband bought an adjustable bed for us and we like the fact that we can adjust the softness of the mattress and the head coming up and down but we are unhappy about having a split bed for only one reason. We tend to toss and turn and the bed splits open as much as six or seven in which we do not like. Since it was delivered and my husband had to put it together I am wondering if there’s something that we are unaware of that keeps the split mattresses from spreading apart so in the middle. Is there someone we can call who is experienced at putting these types of beds together? I have sleep apnea and my husband snores a lot and this adjustable bed has been medically very helpful.

It comes in two firmness options: a “relaxed firm” (or medium firm) and a “firm”, both of which are $1,299 for a queen size (this shows the levels of the mattress probably don’t change, but their density and firmness are changed). They also sell an adjustable base, which is great for you, that goes for $1,399 for a queen size. It is made with a mixture of gel memory foam, memory foam, and polyfoam. They offer a 120-night sleep which is generous. Loom & Leaf’s memory foam is fairly denser than a lot of the online mattress competition (5lbs density, at 2.5″ thickness plus 2″ of memory foam at 4lbs density) which shows it may be very supportive and have a standard memory foam feel. The information Saatva provides on the website shows this to be a well-made mattress and worth considering.Hope this helped!

But she got offered a special opportunity to go to a school in Vienna. So now I am in a peculiar situation. Anyway it is a queen, 2 massage units, head & feet. 2 USB ports, remote control. Full warranty, adjustable legs, etc. I love mine.

There many types of adjustable beds (there are “ups” which are often wired remote bases that only move your upper torso and head up and down) starting at usually $500 (for a queen). You mention your need for an adjustable bed is related to a physical health issue. We recommend looking at medical supply stores near you. Sometimes you can rent out an adjustable base to make sure it works for your needs and sometimes you can also have a doctor write you a prescription which could, at the very least, get rid of sales tax.If you’re only looking for an adjustable bed (no mattress), our research shows most prices (for a queen base that articulates at the head and feet) will be around $1,800+. If you’re looking for an adjustable bed plus a new mattress, add another $1,000 to that. If you’re looking for a king size, double those numbers.But again, it comes down to what you need from the base. For adjustable bases, head to a store and try them out. The good thing about adjustable bases is they serve as functional furniture. This means you can, in person, verify the base will work for you and then shop online for more competitive prices.Good luck!

Just to clarify, one mattress means you and your wife will be forced to adjust the same way.Second, if you are going for no gap, a queen adjustable bed set will save you a significant amount of money. However, a split king (though this means there will be a gap) provides the most freedom.Leggett and Platt is a great manufacturer of adjustable beds. They don’t sell directly to consumers, but their products can be found in major brick-and-mortar retail stores (Sears, JCPenney’s, Mattress Firm) as well as online mattress companies such as Amerisleep.If you haven’t yet, we recommend going to any store to try out the adjustable bed (find one that has a queen adjustable bed on the floor as well as a split-king, so you and your wife can try them out and see which one works for best for you two).Good luck!

However, keep in mind, a 100-night sleep trial, offered by companies such as Amerisleep, can work better than a test run in the showroom for 15-20 minutes. Sleep trials are generally only for the mattress. If you are considering an adjustable bed, you can test an adjustable bed at any other store (adjustable beds are often very similar across companies, seeing as they are more functional furniture).Good luck!

More adjustable beds are built to be customizable, including adjustable legs that let the customer adjust the height of their bed. Some manufacturers, such as Leggett & Platt, have adjustable legs that let you go as low as 3 inches from the ground. Most adjustable bed manufacturers deal only with retailers or online sites, so you should be able to go to a department store or check online and find an option that works for you. Hope this helps!

Heather December 29, 2018 at 11:17 am ReplyI have an adjustable bed that we bought at Sears. they sold us a mattress with it, but I don’t think it was the right kind to go with the bed because the springs on the bed broke and now it’s sagging on that side and the mattress keeps sliding to one side whenever it is lifted up. Now that Sears is out of business, we cant call to get a replacement and the warranty is already up anyway.

A low price doesn’t necessarily mean low quality, but there are some things to consider. First, see if you can try it out so you can gauge how loud the motor is when the machine is moving. Generally speaking, less expensive models will have louder models. This is not a deal breaker but something to consider. Second, check to see the weight limits and the warranty specifics are. Weight limits are very important because they factor in the weight of the person sleeping on the mattress and the mattress itself. As far as warranty, what is covered? How long is each part covered? If an adjustable needs to get repaired, it needs a tech, so how long does it take to get a tech? Questions like that make a big difference.We hope this was helpful!

This adjustable bed is sold at a very attractive price point ($389 for a queen). However, we did see some red flags. First, it does have a 600 lb weight limit. This is not a big red flag, but keep in mind your mattress may weigh anywhere from 80-120+ lbs. Say you get a 120lb mattress. Now your base can handle 480 pounds. If the bed is shared, that’s 240lbs allotted per person. This isn’t to say the base won’t work, but keep in mind the weight limit when choosing a mattress. (In that same line, the adjustable bed is marketed for mattresses that are no higher than 14″ so keep that in mind as well). Also, the five-year warranty is somewhat on the short side.Another concern: the legs don’t seem to be adjustable and the base is 14″ height. So please measure accordingly and make sure this base’s height will fit your needs.It comes down to your needs and what you are using it for. Again, it is sold at a very attractive price.Hope this helps!

I suffer from Fibromyalgia, chronic pain, numbness, edema, pressure points, asthma and sleep apnea every day. After one night on the Purple bed, I feel like I finally had a good night’s sleep. No tossing and turning, no numbness while sleeping. It was great!

The mattress is clearly at the end of life but the base doesn’t seem to have any issues. Can I purchase an Amerisleep mattress and keep the existing base or should I replace the set?

When we looked at these at Art Van I was very comfortable in it but due to the cost, we went with Costco. Just wondering if there is a height it goes up to elevate the feet.

But I told the sales person that I would come back in a week and take sometime to think about it and research it. I came across your review and thoroughly learned so much that I didn’t know until I finish reading your article or a review. I was not aware that Medicare could also cover such a product. My mother is 87 years old and she has back trouble and complains of her joints hurting her when she tosses in bed. I will be looking into this tomorrow morning to find out what we can get for her. My husband does as well and he has reached the point of not being able to raise himself up from sleeping to a sitting position. We need an adjustable bed but they I was just told Medicare only pays for hospital beds that are adjustable. My questions for you is did you get one and, if so, which one did you decide on and how do you like it? Also, did Medicare pay for it. If so, what was required for them to pay for it? Simone April 26, 2019 at 11:07 am ReplyTransparency is a huge problem with many high commissions sales. I just purchased an adjustable bed frame that was free with a mattress purchase over $800 . The offer said nothing about the adjustable frame having only the head of the frame adjustable. This was purchased in order to elevate lower extremities to aide edema . We didn’t have a clue our frame was half of what we expected. The only thing we can do is turn the bed around and use the adjustable head as the foot and use pillows to elevate our head . Feels like misrepresentation , who wouldn’t expect an adjustable bed to have both foot and head adjust? No where does the advertised frame state head only it’s listed just as adjustable . Very disappointed!

Also when my husband has his side raised, and I’m trying to sleep, I’ve got the side of his bed in my face. So I have to lay the other side, so I don’t have a mattress in my face. Just given you some things to think about before buying this or any split bed because like me I regret paying so much money only to be disappointed. Good luck

But what I have been looking for is a wood king frame to go around the 2 quality adjustable bed frames I purchased from Sams Club which are designed for twin xl mattresses for which I have already purchased 12 inch foam for these too.For aesthetic reasons I would like to place the adjustable bed platforms and mattresses inside a tall enough lighter brown knot free wood frame (I have teak furniture) which would go with this Danish Modern / Mid-Century Modern look. Do you have any suggestions of sources? Thank you

David Ehrlich July 27, 2019 at 2:18 pm ReplyMost adjustable beds raise the knees, not the legs; they leave your ankles at about the same level as your arse. Also, they seem to be very low, as if made for people who are only 2 ft. tall. After two hip operations, I have trouble getting up from too low a seat; I am not alone in this, which is why elderly men generally prefer high toilets. When I visit friends, I need help getting up from their couch; at home I have no problem getting up hands free. But among the reasons I am looking for an adjustable bed is that I have have poor leg circulation, and I would like to keep my legs (the entire leg) elevated. After my last operation, I rented a hospital bed for a month and found my ankles had gone slender, and there was no swelling in my legs. I would like to have that as my standard experience. The raised head helps with breathing and sinus congestion.

We have an Amish provided King bed with center support, slats across to each side rail and a flat pad on the slats. I would assume the flat pad would not be practical.

I just went shopping and as a dedicated Tempurpedic owner, I found their prices much too high. I would give Mattress Firm high ratings for their Serta Katrice Ice gel King mattress paired with their Mattress Firm 600 adjustable frame, which is a Legget & Platt Zero Gravety with message features and two USB ports lit at head, plus a low lite under the bed. This should be included in your line up. I’d be happy to help with more details.

Costco seems to have white glove delivery on a Life Science bed. Can I have the bed setup by Costco, then purchase a Amerisleep AS3 and put it on the Life Science adjustable bed base? I think I can move a mattress myself with USPS delivery only.

We went searching from store to store and when we tested this bed out we loved it, take into consideration that our main goal was comfort and longevity with the bed.I’ve read every comment and some made me cry because I was thinking did we make the right decision. Our total purchase was $2900. I did buy this through JCPenney‘s where I shop all the time. So I’d love some feedback and please be easy on me because again this is my first time purchasing a bed like this… Thank you all in advance
Carol December 26, 2020 at 2:03 pm ReplyI’ve just checked with Medicare and I was told they DO NOT COVER COST OF ANY ADJUSTABLE BED UNLESS IT IS A HOSPITAL BED. I would love to know how it can be said that Medicare does pay in these reviews. Maybe they do in some cases? If anyone has gotten them to pay, I would love to know. My husband has Parkinson’s and can no longer raise up alone so we need a bed that can be raised with a button.
Bob Greene February 15, 2021 at 8:43 am ReplyI just bought an Essential adjustable base for $1000 and am very unhappy with it. It is wayyyy too high. I’m short and old and cannot sit on my bed; I have to climb up on it and jump down to get off the bed. They say they can replace the legs with shorter ones and I’ll try, but I doubt they will be short enough. Another problem is the the slow adjustment time; it takes forever to raise or lower the head. Buyer beware.
